Google’s Scam Detection feature for calls and messages is set to launch on Pixel phones in March 2025. Using on-device AI, it detects scam patterns in real time, providing alerts through audio, visuals and haptics. The feature, powered by Gemini Nano on the Pixel 9 and other machine learning models on older devices, will be off by default and can be enabled in settings. Scam protection for messages will also enhance spam filtering. The rollout may coincide with the next Pixel Drop.
