Trump administration eyes 10% stake in Intel

The Trump administration is reportedly considering turning Intel’s $10.9B CHIPS Act grant into an equity stake worth about $10.5B, which would give the U.S. government roughly 10% ownership and make it Intel’s largest shareholder. While investors initially welcomed the idea of federal backing, Intel shares dropped after details emerged, as the plan may be less favorable than expected. The proposal isn’t finalized, and the stake size could still change.
