CMF by Nothing is being spun off as an independent subsidiary of Nothing, becoming India’s first global smartphone and smart hardware company. Originally launched in 2023 as a budget sub-brand, CMF will now operate from India with full R&D, manufacturing and export capabilities.
The move comes through a $100M joint venture with Optiemus, expected to create 1,800+ jobs in three years and establish India as a global production hub for both Nothing and CMF products. CMF will continue focusing on affordable devices, with the CMF Headphone Pro as its next launch.
