GM keeps Android Auto for now

General Motors has clarified that Android Auto and Apple CarPlay will remain in its gas-powered vehicles for the foreseeable future, despite earlier reports suggesting their removal.

The company says no changes are being made to existing cars and that both platforms will continue to work as usual. GM plans to gradually shift to its own infotainment system with Gemini AI integration as it moves toward a centralized computing platform — expected to debut with the Cadillac Escalade IQ in 2028, followed by other models later.
