International Rights Advocates (IRAdvocates) has filed a new lawsuit against Apple, accusing the company of still using conflict minerals from Congo and Rwanda linked to child labor, forced labor and armed groups. Similar lawsuits were filed in 2024 but were dismissed or are still ongoing.
IRAdvocates claims Apple’s supply chain continues to involve cobalt, tin, tantalum and tungsten from illegal operations, citing a recent University of Nottingham report. The group wants the court to declare Apple’s conduct deceptive, stop related marketing, and cover legal costs. Apple has not yet responded.
