Google Maps is beginning to roll out navigation with Gemini

Google Maps is starting to roll out Gemini-powered navigation, replacing Google Assistant in the app with the new Gemini spark icon. It works across all navigation modes (driving, walking, cycling, public transport) and supports voice commands for route control, place search and rich, multi-step requests like finding specific restaurants along your route and then starting navigation there. Because it’s the full Gemini assistant, you can also do things like summarize emails, check your next meeting, or play music via apps like Spotify. The rollout has begun on select Android and iOS devices and will expand over the coming weeks.
