Samsung is reportedly developing a new smartphone camera sensor that delivers near–global shutter performance despite still using a rolling shutter. By combining a redesigned pixel structure, in-pixel ADCs, and optical flow algorithms, the 12MP sensor with 1.5-micron pixels can better freeze motion and reduce distortion. The tech could appear in future Galaxy flagships, likely in ultrawide or telephoto cameras rather than the main sensor.
