Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro series proved that even modest upgrades can drive massive sales, thanks largely to standout battery life. Now, leaks suggest Apple could push even further with the iPhone 18 Pro Max, potentially packing a 5,100–5,200mAh battery and benefiting from a new 2nm A20 chip for even better efficiency.
That would put Apple ahead of Samsung, which is expected to stick with a 5,000mAh battery on the Galaxy S26 Ultra – a capacity unchanged since 2020. Despite smaller batteries on paper, Apple already leads in real-world endurance and Samsung risks falling further behind if the S26 Ultra skips key upgrades like magnets for snap-on accessories and meaningful battery improvements.
