Google is reportedly working on a new, improved face unlock system for the upcoming Pixel 11 lineup and future Chromebooks under the codename “Project Toscana.”
The new tech is said to work without visible extra sensors, potentially hiding infrared components under the display, and should function just as well in low light as in daylight.
Early reports claim the system is as fast as Face ID, giving Pixel users a reliable alternative to fingerprint unlocking.
If accurate, this upgrade would bring a major boost to convenience and security across both Pixel phones and Chromebooks.
