TECNO is revisiting the modular smartphone idea with an ultra-thin concept device unveiled at MWC 2026. The TECNO Modular Phone uses magnetic modules that snap onto a slim 4.9 mm base, adding features like extra battery, an action camera or a telephoto lens without making the phone bulky. Users can attach only the modules they need, keeping the device lightweight.
Two design versions – ATOM (minimalist) and MODA (geek-inspired) – share the same modular system. While the concept is unlikely to reach the market as-is, TECNO says the technology could influence future devices.
