Samsung is reportedly preparing a major connectivity upgrade for its next flagship smartwatch. According to leaks, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 could become the company’s first smartwatch with built-in 5G support, moving beyond the current 4G/LTE connectivity used in existing Galaxy Watches.
The upgrade could allow faster data transfers and improved connectivity when the watch is used without Wi-Fi. Samsung would also be following Apple, which added 5G to models like the Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 3 and Apple Watch SE (3rd generation) in 2025.
The new watch is expected to launch around July alongside the Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 and foldable phones such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8.
