Google is working on expanding its Android XR “Likeness” feature into Gemini, possibly under a new name: “Avatars.”
Originally designed for XR video calls as a realistic digital version of yourself, the feature may soon let users create avatars via a quick face scan and use them in AI-generated content. This could make it easier to insert yourself into creations without taking new photos each time.
The tool is still in development and may change before launch, but it points to deeper integration between Android XR and Gemini’s creative features.
