The UK fined an Apple subsidiary, Apple Distribution International, £390,000 (~$516,000) for breaching sanctions against Russia.
The violation occurred in 2022 when payments were made to Okko LLC, which was under UK sanctions following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Although Apple self-reported the issue, UK regulators (Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation) held the company responsible, stating that firms remain liable even if compliance is handled by affiliates.
