Some Galaxy Z Fold 8 owners have raised concerns about the inner display corners flexing inward when pressed, leaving a small gap between the screen and bezel. The behavior has sparked speculation online that it could be a quality-control issue.
Samsung says the flexing is intentional and part of the display’s design. According to the company, the slight indentation acts as a cushion if debris such as sand gets trapped inside the folded phone, helping prevent scratches and reducing pressure between internal components.
Some users also questioned whether the flexible corners could compromise the phone’s water resistance. However, an independent test reportedly showed a Fold 8 remaining unaffected after the display corners were pressed while the phone was submerged in water.
