SpaceX is taking major steps toward turning Starlink Mobile into a nationwide competitor to AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon. The company has agreed to acquire 800MHz spectrum to improve coverage, particularly indoors, while the FCC has approved its next-generation satellite constellation of around 15,000 satellites.
The new satellites are expected to deliver over 100 times the bandwidth of the current generation. However, SpaceX still needs to develop ground infrastructure and it has yet to reveal how or when its nationwide mobile network will launch.
