Apple has officially enabled alternative app marketplaces in Brazil

Apple has officially enabled alternative app marketplaces in Brazil, allowing iPhone users to install stores like AltStore PAL following a regulatory agreement with the country’s competition authority, CADE.

Users in Brazil can now download and set AltStore as their default marketplace, browse apps by category and add additional app sources. The rollout comes after years of regulatory pressure and places Brazil alongside regions such as the EU and Japan, where third-party app stores are already permitted on iOS.
