Trump says Intel and Apple will produce chips domestically

The U.S. President has claimed that Apple and Intel have agreed to collaborate on chip design and manufacturing, although neither company has officially confirmed the deal. If true, the partnership would help Apple reduce its heavy reliance on TSMC by diversifying chip production for iPhones, iPads and Macs, while also easing pressure from growing global demand driven by AI.

For Intel, the deal would provide a major boost by securing a stable, high-profile customer as it continues to invest in new manufacturing technologies. The agreement also aligns with U.S. efforts to strengthen domestic chip production, create jobs and reduce dependence on overseas semiconductor supply chains.
