Huawei Pura X View brings a passport-like wide display to a smartphone

Huawei has officially launched the Pura X View, an unusual smartphone featuring a wide, passport-like 16:9.5 aspect ratio. It has a 6.39-inch 120Hz OLED display with a resolution of 2,232 × 1,320 and peak brightness of up to 6,500 nits, making it suitable for reading, gaming and split-screen multitasking.

Despite being just 6.68mm thick, the phone packs a huge 7,000mAh silicon-anode battery, with support for 66W wired and 50W wireless charging. It is powered by Huawei’s Kirin 9030S processor, paired with 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage and runs HarmonyOS 7.

The camera setup includes a 200MP main sensor with OIS, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera and an 8MP ultrawide/macro camera, while a 50MP selfie camera is located on the front. The Pura X View also supports the M-Pen 3 Mini stylus and carries IP68/IP69 protection.

Prices start at around $893 for the 12GB/256GB version and rise to about $1,266 for the 1TB model. For now, the Pura X View is exclusive to China, with no international launch announced.
