Phil Schiller steps down from App Store and Apple events

Phil Schiller is stepping down from his roles overseeing the App Store and Apple events after decades at Apple. He will remain an Apple Fellow, working on unspecified projects, although the move is reportedly seen internally as a step toward eventual retirement.

App Store leadership is moving to Apple’s services division under Eddy Cue, with Carson Oliver handling day-to-day operations. Meanwhile, Nola Weinstein, Schiller’s deputy since 2023, will take over leadership of Apple events.

The changes come as John Ternus takes over as Apple CEO from Tim Cook.
