Samsung expands sleep apnea detection to Galaxy Ring

Samsung is rolling out upgraded sleep apnea detection to the Galaxy Watch 9, Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and Galaxy Ring in the US and South Korea. The improved algorithm monitors blood oxygen levels and breathing disruptions across two sleep sessions within a 10-day period, providing severity assessments instead of a simple yes-or-no result.

The Galaxy Ring becomes the first commercial smart ring with regulatory clearance for sleep apnea tracking. Support for the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch 8 series is also planned for a future update.
