Apple has updated its insider trading policy to explicitly prohibit employees from using confidential company information to bet on prediction markets. The restriction covers wagers and event contracts involving Apple or other companies, including its suppliers, manufacturers, customers and business partners.
The new rules also prohibit employees from sharing confidential information with others who could use it for betting. The policy extends beyond traditional insider trading laws, closing a potential loophole around prediction markets.
