Xiaomi has launched the Xiaomi 17 series, the first phones powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The lineup includes the Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max, all running HyperOS 3 with IP69 protection.
The Pro models stand out with secondary rear displays, large silicon-carbon batteries (6,300mAh on the Pro, 7,500mAh on the Pro Max), 100W wired / 50W wireless charging and strong camera setups. The Pro features a 50MP main, ultrawide and 5x telephoto, while the Pro Max swaps in a superior 50MP periscope telephoto. Both also offer up to 3,500 nits peak brightness on their OLED panels.
The base Xiaomi 17 still packs a 6.3-inch 120Hz OLED screen, 7,000mAh battery and triple 50MP cameras.
Pricing in China starts at ¥4,499 (~$631) for the Xiaomi 17, ¥4,999 (~$701) for the Pro and ¥5,999 (~$841) for the Pro Max. A global launch is expected around MWC 2026.
