Epic Games has announced that Fortnite has returned to the App Store worldwide, with one exception. The game is now available again after Apple’s recent legal and regulatory pressure, including scrutiny from U.S. courts over App Store fees.
Epic continues to accuse Apple of charging excessive “junk fees” and says it expects to win its ongoing antitrust case, arguing that Apple will eventually be forced to reduce or eliminate commissions on external payment systems.
CEO Tim Sweeney called the situation a turning point in the fight over App Store policies, claiming it could mark the beginning of the end of the so-called “Apple tax.”
However, Fortnite is still not back on the Australian App Store, which Epic says is due to Apple not complying with a local court ruling.
