Honor Robot Phone survives durability test despite gimbal camera flaws

Honor’s futuristic Robot Phone has gone through JerryRigEverything’s usual durability tests and disassembly. The phone’s display performs as expected, scratching at level 6 on the Mohs scale, while its aluminum frame and unusual gimbal camera system receive closer scrutiny.

The gimbal camera can become very hot to the touch, and dust and sand can prevent the motorized camera from extending from its enclosure, showing that the mechanism isn’t fully dust-proof. However, the Robot Phone passes the bend test without breaking, while its unusual internal design, including a vapor chamber attached directly to the back of the display, highlights Honor’s engineering effort.
