Google launched its first Pixel smartphone 10 years ago today, promising that people would still be talking about it years later. That prediction has certainly come true, as the Pixel lineup has grown into a major part of Google’s hardware ecosystem.
Despite early success, the series faced several setbacks, including the Pixel 2 XL’s display issues, the Pixel 3 XL’s large notch, and the Pixel 4 lineup. Google nevertheless continued investing in Pixel, expanding it with mid-range models, custom Tensor chips, and a wider ecosystem of accessories.
A decade later, Pixel shows no signs of slowing down, with the latest models continuing to compete with the biggest smartphone brands.
