Bitdefender researchers have discovered a serious Android vulnerability called GhostMap that can trigger an endless crash loop simply by installing a specially crafted APK. The flaw repeatedly crashes a core system process and may require a factory reset or manual removal of the malicious file to recover the device. No active attacks have been identified so far, but public disclosure could make it easier for attackers to exploit the vulnerability. Google has not yet released a fix.
