Samsung’s upcoming XR project, teased last year in partnership with Qualcomm and Google, has been confirmed to be mixed reality smart glasses, according to Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon. These glasses will link to smartphones and aim to be as common as regular eyewear, with AI functionality running both in the cloud and on-device. The glasses will feature a Snapdragon XR2 Plus Gen 2 chip and run on Android. Samsung’s TM Roh hinted at a release later this year. This product could potentially be connected to Google’s Project Astra demo seen at Google I/O.
