Apple has introduced the MacBook Neo, its most affordable laptop yet, starting at $599 ($499 for education users). Instead of an M-series processor, the device is powered by the Apple A18 Pro chip originally used in the iPhone 16 Pro.
Apple says the chip delivers up to 50% faster everyday performance and 3× faster on-device AI tasks compared with a typical Intel Core Ultra 5 laptop.
The MacBook Neo features a 13-inch Liquid Retina display, aluminum design weighing 1.22 kg, up to 16 hours of battery life, a 1080p FaceTime camera, and Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos. It runs macOS Tahoe despite using an iPhone chip.
The laptop comes with 8GB RAM and either 256GB or 512GB storage, with pre-orders open now and availability starting March 11 in several colors.
