Galaxy Watch blood pressure monitoring is arriving to US

Samsung is rolling out blood pressure monitoring to Galaxy Watches in the US, starting with Galaxy Watch 4 and newer models running WatchOS 4.0+.

The feature uses optical sensors to estimate systolic and diastolic blood pressure, along with heart rate, but it’s not a replacement for medical devices. It relies on pulse wave analysis and requires calibration with a traditional cuff every 28 days for accuracy, using the Samsung Health Monitor app.

While Samsung has offered this feature in other regions since 2020, its US debut likely follows regulatory delays, and it’s unclear if it has full FDA approval. Rollout begins in phases now.
