Google has launched WeatherNext 3, its most advanced AI weather model yet. It can generate forecasts every hour and provide weather information at a much more detailed local level, with resolution as fine as 5 km compared with 25 km for its predecessor.
Google says the model uses live satellite observations and can make precipitation forecasts up to 50% more accurate when predicting a day or more in advance.
WeatherNext 3 is now powering weather features in Google Search, Gemini and Google Maps, as well as several developer and business services.
