Snap is launching its most advanced consumer smart glasses yet, the $2,195 Specs AR glasses. The glasses feature gesture-controlled augmented reality, a 51-degree field of view and support for more than 60 languages, while offering features such as real-time translation, navigation, virtual note-taking, music and multiplayer AR gaming. A recording indicator LED is also included to address privacy concerns.
Specs also introduce Snap’s new Specs Intelligence AI platform, which can use information from the user’s apps to provide proactive assistance while giving users control over what data is shared. The glasses can be paired with a $2,395 Connected Case that doubles as a cellular hotspot, allowing them to stay connected without a phone nearby. Shipments are expected to begin this fall.
